In the beginning

Prior to that I was a photographer there, and before that a solider. For more about me, see my website. For more about this blog, read on.
A while back I wrote a photography blog for the paper’s website, but as that is no longer around, I’ve decided to produce this one myself. It’ll be about photography of course, but I’ll take the liberty of straying a bit into news and politics examined from a photographer’s perspective (think privacy, access, ethics and the law), there’ll be lots on technology and the web in so far as it affects and advances our trade, and I’ll examine photography’s place and impact in the community and on our daily lives.
I use Canons, Mac desktops, laptops and servers, Aperture, Photoshop, iPhones, Elinchroms, Pelican cases, and so on, so we’ll talk regularly about those things here.
I admire clever design and designers – particularly but not solely as a vehicle for photography – so I’ll be bringing plenty to your attention too.
I’ll have the odd interesting tale to tell from my day to day work, and along the way we’ll examine some great photography by great photographers.
Thanks for your interest and welcome aboard.

I’m looking forward to seeing what you have to say.
